The existing concrete walk at our Columbus Contemporary jobsite had an awkward approach to the front door. Stone mulch beds sterilized the area.
An existing irregular stone patio surrounded the unique backyard deck, but contrasted in style.
The design reflects a more contemporary layout to blend with the architecture of the house. A new front walk and backyard patio were desired.

By reorienting the walkways approach to the front door, the existing deck steps flow seamlessly with the design. Rozanne Geranium is used as a groundcover throughout the beds and will fill the space in a few short years.
A seamless blend into the existing concrete drive accentuates the new layout.
Benches were built and provided by the homeowner for the front entry. Perennial flowering will envelop the bases within a few seasons.
The entryway has two pond mix accent areas installed to provide year round interest.
The Bluestone walk wraps the house and continues to a new seating area off the deck.
The Bluestone tones work well with the existing color and the Limestone step and curbing brighten the space.
By wrapping the Bluestone walk along the side yard, the entire property is given a cohesive look. Planting bed cutouts were created to soften the house as well as frame the grilling station.
The Limestone step turns into banding along the front of the patio as the grade rises.
The brown tones of the Bluestone blended wonderfully with the color of the house.
Big textures from the Upright Juniper and ornamental grasses add year long interest to the gardens.
